As a CMH Peer Support Volunteer you will be joining a service that works across Worcestershire to offer reassurance to service users that have recently ended support with Community Mental Health Service. This will last an average of 6 to 12 weeks. The aim is to help the service user transition from the support of CMH Service to supporting their own mental health journey. This is an added service only for people that are experiencing low level/ manageable mental health struggles, that require low level amounts of intervention or deemed able to now manage it on their own.
In many scenarios Peer Support Mentoring helps both volunteer and match through their mental health journey.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking people who are friendly and approachable. You will have direct or indirect experience of mental health issues and an active interest in supporting those who are recovering from such issues. You will have, or be willing to learn, basic computer literacy skills in order to log your contact / work on our database system.
