ARE YOU DETERMINED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE, LOOKING FOR A NEW CHALLENGE, AND CAN SPARE A FEW HOURS A WEEK TO HELP SOMEONE IN YOUR COMMUNITY?
ONSIDE provides a range of support to individuals within the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing services. Many of those service users would benefit from continued support and mentorship after the ONSIDE staff have concluded their service. Volunteers can provide that continuity to help the individual become independent of services.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for volunteers who have had a relevantly direct or indirect positive experience or perception of mental health and other services. They need to be open to sharing their experiences while understanding and upholding their own boundaries. They need to be able to empathise and actively listen and to be able to ask for support and guidance when needed. You will have, or be willing to learn, basic computer literacy skills in order to log your contact / work on our database system.
